What free share will you get?
The reward is randomly assigned. The values below are Lightyear's official probability table, taken directly from their promotion terms published in June 2026.

The realistic outcome is a share worth €10 to €15, which 85% of users receive. Treat the €100 ceiling as a cap, not an expectation. Some affiliate sites still display an older distribution with better odds, but the table above matches Lightyear's current official terms.
How to claim your free fractional share

Sign up to Lightyear.
Create your Lightyear account. To receive the welcome share you must enter an eligible promo code during onboarding, or later in the app under Settings, then Promotions. KindredBase does not currently hold a Lightyear code.

Verify your identity.
Complete the KYC identity check. This takes a few minutes.

Deposit at least €100.
Fund your account within 15 days of completing onboarding. The reward is only paid into a General Investment Account, so make sure you have one open.

Receive your free share.
Choose an available US fractional share or ETF, and the reward is credited within 24 to 48 hours once all requirements are confirmed.
What we found testing Lightyear
We ran the Lightyear signup and deposit flow ourselves in July 2026. Account setup and identity verification took around 10 minutes, and the €100 deposit cleared without issue. The welcome share is only released once an eligible promo code has been applied to the account.
One detail worth knowing before you claim: the reward is redeemed by placing a market order for a fractional instrument of your choice, and Lightyear's standard 0.35% currency conversion fee is deducted from the reward when it is converted to buy a US share. In practice the value you receive lands slightly below the headline figure. The reward also goes into a General Investment Account only, so if you opened a different account type first, you will need to add a GIA in the app.

If you created a Lightyear account recently but have not claimed a welcome bonus, you may still be eligible. As long as it has been less than 15 days since you completed onboarding and you have not used another promo code, you can apply an eligible promo code in the app.
